The Glazing Table

Choose your pieces, take a seat at the table and discover the joy of decorating ceramics with glaze.

The Glazing Table is a relaxed, beginner-friendly workshop for anyone who wants to explore colour, pattern and surface design—without having to make the pottery first.

At the beginning of the workshop, you will choose two small ceramic vessels that have been handmade and prepared by us. We will introduce you to the basics of brush-on glazing and show you how to apply colours evenly, combine different shades and create simple patterns and decorative details.

You will work with Mayco Stroke & Coat and selected BOTZ brush-on glazes. No previous pottery or glazing experience is needed. The workshop is taught in German and English.

What to expect

We will begin with a short introduction to brush-on glazing, including:

• How to prepare your ceramic pieces
• How much glaze to apply
• How to create even layers
• How to combine colours
• Simple brushwork and decorative techniques
• Common glazing mistakes and how to avoid them

After the demonstration, you will have plenty of time to experiment and decorate your two chosen pieces in your own style. We will be there to guide and support you throughout the workshop.

Additional ceramic pieces can be purchased and glazed during the workshop, depending on availability:

• Small piece: €10
• Larger piece: €15

Only ceramic pieces provided by Studio Belkisa can be glazed during this workshop. Pieces made elsewhere cannot be accepted because clay bodies and firing temperatures may differ.

Collection

After the workshop, your pieces will be fired once more. They will usually be ready for collection approximately 2–3 weeks later. We will send you an email as soon as they are ready.

If you cannot collect them yourself, someone else is welcome to collect them for you. Shipping is also possible for an additional fee. Please collect your pieces within two months after receiving our email.

We cannot guarantee that pieces will be ready before a specific holiday or gift date.

Cancellation policy

• Up to 7 days before the workshop: full refund
• Less than 7 days before the workshop: no refund

If you are unable to attend, you are welcome to give your place to someone else.

If the minimum number of three participants is not reached, we will contact you and find a new date together.
