A Belly Bowl captures the shape of your baby bump and transforms it into a personal ceramic keepsake. Each bowl is shaped entirely by hand and created especially for you.

Shaped directly on your baby bump

During a private appointment at Studio Belkisa, the clay is carefully shaped over your protected baby bump. Your skin will be fully covered and the clay will never be placed directly onto your skin.

The appointment takes approximately 60 to 75 minutes. You are very welcome to bring one accompanying person.

We recommend having your Belly Bowl made from around the 34th week of pregnancy. Please wear comfortable clothing that may come into contact with a little clay.

Made from an existing plaster cast

If you already have a suitable plaster cast of your baby bump, we can use it to create your ceramic Belly Bowl without a personal shaping appointment.

Before confirming your order, we will ask you to send us a few photographs so that we can check whether the plaster cast is suitable.

Your personal design

You can choose between a classic shape and a softer organic rim. A selection of Studio Belkisa glazes is available.

You may also personalise your bowl with a name, date, initials or a short handwritten message.

Finishing and collection

After the shaping process, we refine your bowl and allow it to dry slowly. It is then fired, glazed in your chosen colour and fired a second time.

Your Belly Bowl will usually be ready for collection after approximately five to six weeks.

Clay is a natural material. Small variations, tension marks or fine cracks may occasionally appear during drying and firing. These details are part of the handmade process and make every bowl unique.

The Belly Bowl is a decorative keepsake and is not intended for food.
